Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students live in a historically socio-economically disadvantaged area. We live on the border between the US and Mexico and consist of a majority of students being from Hispanic/Mexican heritage. Many of our amazing students get up several hours early to cross the border because their incredible families sacrifice their time to ensure their kids get the best educations possible.

The goal of my project is to help create manipulatives for concepts too small to see.

We will be able to create cells, organelles, and other tiny topics on a grand scale that students can handle, create, and watch slowly come into existence. I want my classroom to be inviting and inspiring to students so I'm hoping to surround them awe inspiring projects from life-sized dinosaur skulls to prokaryotic cells. I want to show my scholars that no problem or goal is insurmountable when broken into smaller pieces.
