Help me give my students camera Cannon and its accessories to be able to record all the actions they will take to investigate and present about Hudson River
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very nice children who come from low-income families; some of them live in shelters or are in foster care. Many students live in the projects and as a result, were not exposed to many interesting things that science can offer. However, all my students are very respectful and curious, especially middle school students. They are engaged in all activities I come up with. Even though they need to work a lot on their studying skills, they are not afraid to embrace the challenging tasks. They enjoy inquiry related activities and like to explore new things.
My Project
We a planning to collaborate with several grades in our school (middle and high school) and community organizations such as Harlem DNA Lab, Billion Oyster Project, Urban Advantage, etc to investigate the quality of water of the Hudson River, its acquatic life, factors that impact its water quality and biodiversity, study the history and current situation of oysters biodiversity in the Hudson River and human's impact. At the end, we would like to create a educational presentation to the whole school and surround community members. We would need to record and film our investigations and actions taken to be able to present it.
