Help me give my students HP Chromebook's to help them write their essays, because they have a very difficult time writing for long periods of time. Students rather type than write, and I feel typing is important.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students at FA come from a variety of backgrounds. Many students come to school each day not only to learn, but to feel a sense of belonging. Our school is a home for most of our students. Students in my classes also have varying abilities. Many of my students have learning disabilities that would benefit from numerous technology applications.
I know that creating a safe and welcoming classroom environment is more important than any lesson I will teach.
Students need to be able to forget about their problems at home and enjoy the time they spend at school. They also need to be confident in their abilities. I make sure that all of my students know that I am one of their biggest supporters and I believe in them.
Having technology in the classroom will open up opportunities that many of my students will only have at school.
My Project
Due to the fact that my students are struggling readers and writers. Chromebooks will allow my students to want to read and write. Growing up in a society that lends itself to technology allows the students to be exposed to things all over the world. My students will be able to research social studies topics as well as complete essays in a timely manner and without being hinder to actually write.
The HP's will open up a whole new world for my students, where they can use the technology for entertainment, research, math, writing and reading practice.
The use of technology will make the students want to complete their work because they know they are doing it on a computer.
