HP Laptop for an Active Board!

My students need a HP laptop so that the Active Board will be fully functional in my room.

My Students

My students are great group that come from variety of backgrounds. I have several English as a second language learners. I also have 6 special education students that need to have visuals to help them comprehend what is being studied. Hands-on learning is important to all students so that they can make connections to other learning standards.

Our school is about 45% free/reduced lunch students.

Then we have students come from a more affluent background. Using technology is a way to meet the needs of all of these students.

My Project

Right now my Active Board isn't functioning. It desperately needs a laptop! While using the laptop and Active Board I can make lessons come alive. Students will be able to interact more directly in lessons by responding to questions on the Active Board.

Another use of the Active Board is to take students on virtual fieldtrips.

Students will be able to use primary sources when studying ancient civilizations this year. Virtual fieldtrips are one way to have students access world history. Students can also be shown how to use different computers tools to help make interesting projects during the school year.
