it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We love Green Energy, but even electric cars will need to be worked on at some point in their lives. I am starting an RC car club at my High Poverty Low Income school. Many of my students have no idea how an actual electric motor and power system works in Electric Vehicles.
Not everyone learns through reading a book, that's where my RC car club comes into play!
My students love working with their hands. As a high poverty school many of my students struggle with traditional learning. I used to teach that a four year degree was where it's at. I have drastically changed my approach over my 15 year teaching career and now focus with many of my students on Tech/Hands on curriculum and hands on job skills. Think how much a mechanic and AC repair person makes and charges.
I am starting an RC club to get kids fired up to expand the areas of jobs that many of my students would be more successful than in a traditional classroom setting. With your donation I will be able to teach them how electric motors and batteries play a huge roll in todays EV's. The last reason this donation would benefit my students is keeping them here at school rather than going home to an environment that is not always safe and inviting. My students look up to me and this club would provide me the time to reinforce good values and positive encouragement which many of my students lack. Thanks for your consideration!
