Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The "I Survived" book series is of high interest among my students. The main characters are the same age as my 3rd graders, so they easily relate and get into the stories. My current collection is limited in titles and numbers.
Getting this project funded will give my students the opportunity to have book clubs with a series of their liking and level.
Having multiple copies will also allow my struggling readers to read in small groups with me. These books will bring much joy to my students as they achieve their goal of becoming better readers.
My students are reading at different levels and this series is a good fit. Half of my students are English learners and they are striving to become proficient readers. They are eager to learn and excited about reading!
