This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
First graders enjoy music! They love to hear music, sing, and dance. We are a community of learners who have been working hard to grow academically. We work so hard, that we forget to enjoy other learning experiences such as music and dance.
School budgets are being slashed and the first to go are the arts. Luckily, I can bring creativity to this issue by bringing in music and teaching dancing to appeal to my students learning. Students don't always want to be tied down to learning from books. They need to escape and enjoy the arts.
The iPod Touch and iRhythms Docking Station are the perfect items to bring song, music, and movement to my class. The iPod touch will allow me to bring up to 3,500 songs to my class. My students can listen to classics, children's songs, and more. I can teach about different composers, styles of music, and more. I will also be able to download educational podcasts my students would not be exposed to in the regular classroom setting. Technology has come a long way in exposing our students to educational resources. The docking station will make it easier to share the music so that the whole class will be able to hear the wonderful music. Also, while teaching dancing, I will be able to use the remote to pause the music and restart when ready. We will also be able to transport the docking station from place to place to entertain parents and other classes! The benefits are endless!
You will make it possible for our class to get its GROOVE BACK in an educationally exciting way. Isn't that the way education should be?
