This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third graders are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged during our online lessons. Despite the fact that they've been learning remotely since March 2020 due to the pandemic, they are eager to attend class. Distance learning has been a challenge for many reasons.
Unfortunately many families are experiencing unemployment, evictions, COVID-19, and loss of loved ones.
Many of my students live in small apartments or homes where they live with several families due to the high cost of living.
My Project
These materials will help me teach my students important financial literacy skills that will help them forever. Students will forget that they are learning because they will be playing.
By using engaging games students will learn to count money, save for college and to be comfortable paying for items and giving out correct change.
Learning to have deal with money correctly at a young age can make a world of difference in how people manage their money as adults. I will teach my students to earn money, and to make saving money an important goal.
