My Project
In Kindergarten my students do not have the concept of time. A very important organizational and time management tool is a visual timer. My students have gotten used to having one in our classroom to see how much time they have left of an activity. My students know that they are to stay working until the timer goes off. Unfortunately, my timer this year broke on the third week of school. My students have gotten used to having it as a management tool and for it to help keep them on track. I am hoping to replace my timer as it has been so helpful to my students as well as myself. When my students can see how much time they have left in their station or for writing workshop it is easier for them to clean up on get ready for their next activity.
My students love to learn with hands on educational games.
I have added a beginning number recognition game and a letter sounds game that my students will be able to independently use in a small group. These games are fun ways to practice their numbers and letters while I am meeting with small groups.
