Help me give my students scales and measurement books to fully understand and grasp measuring in ounces and pounds during problem based learning and STEM activities.
My classroom is filled with curious and diverse young learners who love to learn. My students are kind and love to collaborate and problem-solve as they engage in active learning.
Each day with my students brings new adventures and new experiences which we explore together.
It is my goal as a teacher to further extend the love of learning to my students so they are able to not only have successful academic careers but achieve their own personal goals and dreams.
My Project
Understanding, estimating, and measuring in ounces and pounds is a 3rd-grade mathematics concept that can be difficult for students to conceptualize and grasp.
Providing students with scales to measure items during problem-based learning and STEM activities will aid them greatly in fully understanding measurement concepts and being able to estimate the weight of an object using ounces and pounds.
Additionally, the books on weight and measurement will provide additional support to understanding this concept, especially for our visual learners. Finally, the batteries will allow students to use the scales around the room as they explore the weight of objects and complete their projects and active engagement activities.
All of these materials are sure to bring a lot of "weight" in students understanding ounces and grams. Thank you for all your help!
