How Is It Alive Without Outside Air?

Help me give my students an observable, live closed ecosystem to model how our planet works.

My Students

My high school students bound into the classroom full of curiosity and craving to learn. Our population of 2000 students is diverse with minority groups comprising 60% of our school. I am motivated to provide them with high interest projects to help them make sense of our world while making their learning experience memorable and joyful.

The gratitude of my students makes me want to work harder to give them the best education possible.

In order to prepare them for the age they live in, I do my best to expose them to current practices in our modern world. To do this, I need your help to provide materials for hands-on biology and environmental science experiments.

My Project

Capturing student attention and interest has become a real challenge online. This large ecosphere will engage my students to ask questions about the exchange of gasses between plants and animals and the vital importance of bacteria in our world.

My high school students will be able to use this model photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and matter cycles by the end of the unit and it will cause them to think differently about the air around them.

In addition, I will regularly reference this model on a variety of environmental science topics throughout the school year and many years to come.
