My Project
History comes alive with the book series "Who Was?" and "Who Is?" CES has a small beginner collection of these books, and we would like to add more to our library. These books are particularly relevant to third—to sixth-grade students and pique their innate curiosity through engaging titles. Eight-—to twelve-year-olds begin to look outward, observe, and learn from stories from the past. This series creates an accessible learning opportunity.
Recently, the CES library changed its biography section to reflect genres of interest to students.
We now have genres like artists, authors, civil rights, Holocaust accounts, music, sports, U.S. history, and world history. Since making the switch, circulation has increased. It's easier for students to find biographies shelved by genre than by individual.
New titles from this series will significantly increase the visibility of current and historical figures. Students will learn about people from many different areas of history. Well-written and engaging books from "Who Was?" and "Who Is?" make history come alive!
