How Does Our Garden Grow?

Help me give my students learn about gardening and why planting a garden is important.

My Students

Our students come from a majority of low-income families. We are early education classrooms that consist of Head Start students, 4 year old kindergartners and 3 and 4 year olds with special needs.

Our students come to school eager to start their educational journey and we, their teachers, can't wait to watch their little minds grow and soak up all the knowledge they can!

We are the first stepping stones to their days in elementary school. We strive to build a good foundation and a love for learning for the years to come.

My Project

This spring, we will begin an expedition on gardening! We want to help our children learn the importance of growing a garden as well as eating healthy to take care of their minds and body. We will also look briefly at the importance of flowers and bees.

Our students will be participating in "Better World Day" where we will deliver vegetable and flower seedlings to people in our community.

It is our hope to spread some joy and some healthy foods to our students and our neighbors.

We have the books to read and the knowledge to share. We need help with the supplies to help make this expedition come to life and really get our hands dirty!
