My students need dictionaries to check spelling, to learn new words and to find meanings of words.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Adams's classroom raised $250

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you come across words you don't know the meaning of or had a word you didn't know how to spell? This happens to second graders on a nearly daily basis.
My students are in a low-socioeconomic, urban environment.
They may not have much money in their pockets but their hearts are as good as gold. They are appreciative and grateful for anything and everything - new or used - big or small. They are kind and generous, eager and creative. They are a great example of how others in the world could be.
My Project
At any time of day, during any writing activity, students need to know how to properly spell words. Until the time when all students have their own personal laptop or iPad for research, they must continue to have age-appropriate printed resource materials readily accessible.
It is frustrating for students who are inspired and eager to work but don't have the resources to do so.
Dictionaries in the classroom are one small step to help them become more successful.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
