Can you remember your first grade classroom? You probably remember bright colors, a warm inviting environment, and tons of fun learning! I know I do! How about a cold cement floor? Was that part of the memory?
My 30 first graders are a warm, bubbly group that enjoys learning.
They attend an intercity charter school within it's second year of existence. Due to many factors, we like many others don't have the funds to purchase all that we truly need for our classroom.
My Project
Although there are many things that we need in our room, I think that far beyond the rest my students are in need of a carpet. What is first grade without calendar, story time, and just plain old fun times on the carpet? This carpet is large enough to fit all 30 students and will help us with our calendar standards!
Without your donation my students will still be sitting on the cement floor.
I don't know about you, but that's not the memory I want these children to have about their schooling!!
