How can a student develop a better self-esteem if they lack the essential resources which can make that possible. I teach physical education at an alternative school in Louisiana. The program is fairly new and our resources are very limited. The students who attend this school have been expelled from their regular school and generally have been cast away and forgotten by most. The potential to make an impact in their lives is enormous!
These young people face many obstacles in the home lives. They have limited resources and even worse, limited encouragement to excel. Sports is a huge part of their motivation and a structured sports program could make an unbelievable impact for the positive.
I need 10 new soccer balls to teach skills to these young men and women and help develop a understanding of the game. While I teach physical skills I am developing strong team building and teamwork, along with positive self worth. Soccer is just an avenue to reaching these hurting and needy children.
I have applied many times before and many times before donors, just like yourself, have come through to help the young people I educate. My school lacks the budget to purchase new equipment and these young people need these items for so many reasons. Physical success leads to emotional and educational success. Please help me, help them. Thank you!
