My students need quick therapy materials that are efficient and effective. Hot Dots are a fun way to review content that has previously been taught in therapy sessions.
A typical day in my speech/language therapy is pushing in and pulling kids out to do articulation drills, grammar practice and communication building amongst peers.
Ms. McCabe's students are just AWESOME!
They are adventurous, curious and amazing students eager to learn every time they step foot into my room. My school has a magnet program as well as a mainstream population side. However, as we all know it does not mean funding is necessarily available. We make due with our resources and I am appreciative to this site which has helped boost the materials that I lack.
My Project
My students will be drilling on the items I have chosen which are main idea, using informational text which is now what is included in Florida State Assessment that has replaced the Florida Comprehensive Assessment. We will also help the lower readers to understand blends and material that can help them grow and catch up to their fellow peers.
The way you present curriculum is important with kiddos these days.
They are very hands on and technology minded. I try to incorporate all of these items to keep their attention, focus and yet learn new material and grow. The hot dots is a great tool for review of items we will be working on throughout the course of the school year.
