Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When students are finished with their math work they need something to work on and practice their math skills while the teacher is working with others.
The class I have this year has a mixed ability of levels.
Some are below level, some on level and some that are approaching above level. We also have students that are in the ESE program receiving extra support to help meet their educational needs. We are a Title 1 school in which a majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
My Project
The Hot Dot Math resources would be a great addition to our classroom for those students who need to practice or review basic math skills of addition, subtraction, time, and money skills. The activity provides a immediate self-check component so if the teacher is working with other students they do not need to interrupt valuable teaching time.
My class is already using the Hot Dot Language Arts set and love it!
The Hot Pen is able to give them immediate feedback with sounds to get them excited about learning. It would be great to have the Math Hot Dots to keep their excitement of learning and gives the class an activity to go to if they complete their work early or do for morning work.
