I teach a fun, active group of 25 second graders. They love to learn and work together. In second grade, we learn a lot of new skills every day. These students are eager to learn and apply their skills every day!
My students are on a variety of levels in the classroom.
They need engaging ways to practice the skills they are missing. My students that are reading above level need engaging ways to challenge their brains!
They need new and exciting experiences to keep them engaged in our curriculum. I like to provide them with experiences that will immerse them in the learning and teach them about the world we live in.
My Project
My students love using Hot Dots in the classroom. They are engaged when they get to use and beg to take a turn with them! We don't have enough pens for the students to use the card sets we have. We also don't have the hot dots to cover all the skills we need. With these new pens, we will have enough pens for multiple students to use them at the same time. We will also have more hot dots to cover the skills that we need!
Hot dots provide self corrected differentiated learning.
We also need some materials for rooms transformations. When students are engaged, they are more excited to learn. They work harder and learn more. They don't even realize they are learning! We will use the blow up animals for a safari room transformation and the flashlights for our glow day transformation. The kids will be so excited to have their own flashlights. We will use the lego glasses during our LEGO transformation day!
