This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have so much resilience and determination. Unfortunately, they have been impacted by this national pandemic and learning has been more difficult than ever. They attend an inner-city school in a low-income community where lack of resources places them at disproportionate levels.

My Project

My students have been such troopers during this pandemic, however, they have been feeling stress and anxiety due to all the negative factors that come with distance learning.

The visual arts will bring a form of normalcy and joy to my tenacious third graders.

They always look forward to music time and that is in spite of not having musical instruments at home. I can't imagine the look on their faces when they see, touch, and play real recorders from home.

They will be able to learn how to read music, play songs such as "Hot Cross Buns" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".
