This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you enter our classroom, you will meet a variety of students who all love to learn. Our students have a variety of needs and interests. Our class is an integration of general education students, students with disabilities and students who are English Language Learners.
All of our students are always eager to learn new things and love to use new tools and resources in their learning.
Each and every day we instill what it means to be kind, and what it means to be a leader.
My Project
Small group instruction is vital in any classroom. The shape of a horseshoe is perfect for a small group table. The horseshoe shape allows the teacher to sit in the middle of the table, with 6-7 students along the outside of the table. The teacher is then able to work closely with the students to promote active learning and engagement.
A horseshoe table will allow students to have their own space to complete their work while receiving support from the teacher.
Whether the students are reading, writing, or solving math problems, a horseshoe table will let me easily support my students and encourage them to stay focused on meaningful learning tasks. I would be able to sit close to the students and support them as they complete their work - providing them with immediate feedback.
A horseshoe table and chairs would create the ideal learning environment for my students!
