My Project
One of the most common questions I get from my students when discussing upcoming labs is, "Are we going to get to dissect things?" This question is always followed up by a variety of student stories. Some students have had the opportunity to dissect small specimens in previous science classes, these students still talk about this experience as their favorite memory in science. However, the majority of my students have never had such an opportunity. These students always express that they wish they would have had the opportunity to experience such a memorable learning activity.
Science should be hands-on!
Dissecting frogs allows students to experience what they are learning in the classroom firsthand. Many students have a hard time imagining the organization of organisms and how their body systems work together to maintain homeostasis. Completing a hands-on dissection lab allows students to see and feel these systems in a real-life way.
Please help my students meaningfully learn body systems and create exciting science memories by helping to fund frog dissection specimens.
