My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many come from single-family homes or are second language learners but everyone comes with a smile and an expectation for success. I am amazed by the enthusiasm each child comes with, ready to take in all I have prepared for them and read to build the background knowledge that will help them access the coming curriculum.
I am requesting resources to support students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being as well as the impacts of interrupted learning as a result of COVID-19.
I have a large percentage with second language challenges but since I worked with them last year I know they will work hard and accomplish great things! The ability to leave first-grade as powerful readers is my goal!
My Project
Covid-19 has brought doom and gloom and hopelessness to many but these supplies will help our class emerge from the doom. They will give us books that will help every child feel important and valued!
I see little eyes shining, knowing they were not forgotten in our class.
