Hope Box. Supplies Needed for Basic Needs at School.
My students need a place where students can go and pick up supplies they may need. Soap, toothbrush, shirt, jackets, extra underwear, pants. This covers basics for any personal accidents.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are half poverty high need population in northern California. Our school has no extra funds, we are without many things. Kindergarten is a time to explore and realize who you are who you would want to be and to feel safe. Unfortunately, almost 40% or more of my students are without many supplies.
As a teacher there is so much I can do, and there is nothing at times I can do, this is why we need your help.
These children are so thankful, so wonderful and all they need is someone to believe in them. Therapeutic play can serve in individual growth purposes. In childhood, therapeutic play serves both social and personal function. Children who have had traumatic experiences can work out their demos encountered by their childhood experience as well as many challenges and anticipations of the future. My students come from a varied of backgrounds and countries, I am so lucky be their teacher.
My Project
In childhood, therapeutic services serves both social and personal function. Children who have had traumatic experiences can work out their demons encountered by their childhood experience as well as many challenges and anticipations of the future. I have seen too many times children of poverty/and neglect come to school without a jacket, without basic hygenie, and sady such a low self esteem. I want to create a "HOPE BOX" at our school that addresses and helps them start of their day if need be, with perhaps a new TSHIRT, a Jacket , new underware, soap, tooth brushes , and pads for girls who are menstrating. Our school budget does not include these things, and as a teacher for 22 years, I have seen so many chilldren in need. Almost 1/4 of my school alone has been abandoned in foster homes, and worse. I am asking for these supplies to help students thrive. I want them all to go to college, so creating this HOPE BOX is essential to positive learning. Thank you for caring!
