My Project
This year is going to be a great year! I will be teaching English Language Arts to almost 60 3rd graders and most of these students are EL. We have an entire unit of Frogs and their life cycle. I cannot wait to write poems and read stories about these creatures!
Hands-on learning is the best way to make the material come alive for these students!
The Life Cycle Paperweight is a beautiful representation of the different stages of the frog's life. Holding that and looking at them will help to make things clearer and more "real" for these students. Language will not be a barrier as they use the figures to examine each part of the life cycle.
The book is another way to make learning fun and use all of our skills as we master the concepts. We will explore using the paper to draw, write, and print activities. When we are done, we will file and keep our work organized.
