Fun equals motivation! I want to motivate my students with a lifelong desire to be active! These hippity hop balls are a lot of fun to hop around on. My daughter spends hours on her hippity hop ball, so I think my students will love to relay race and hop around the gym in them.
In a high poverty area, my students are typical preteens who need motivation to move or work out!
The obesity rate is only going up, and as teachers we need materials to motivate them to move and be more responsible for their health. The more fun they have doing this, the more likely they will become lifelong advocates of health and fitness.
My Project
Remember what it was like to hop down the block on your hippity hop on a beautiful spring day? My students don't have many park areas in which to run and play. During physical education class, I really need to get students moving by having fun. With hippity hop balls, they will be motivated to hop!
My students will be motivated to move by having fun and hopping their way to good fitness.
The more fun they have at a young age, the more likely they will continue to live a long healthy lifestyle.
