My students need a chance to do projects and experience practice outside the classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It is a challenge for many of my students to do work outside of the classroom, and complete projects. I am hoping these tablets will inspire students to "move out on their own" and discover the world around them.
I teach in a very low socio-economic area.
A survey of my students showed that only about 1 out of 4 have access to a computer outside of their school time. Access to a wi-fi will soon be available to us which will enable, and, hopefully, inspire my students to "branch out". These will be 8th grade students who need to develop technological skills for their high school years and beyond. These 8th grade students have a superficial knowledge of technology, but need to move ahead.
My Project
With these two tablets as a starting point, I will be able to use them to support student activities in the classroom by working outside the classroom. I have some exciting ideas for projects normally developed on paper, etc. By using the tablets a student can then make an electronic presentation on my big screen for all to see and be able to "expand" the projects more easily.
My students tend to be VISUAL.
Their reading levels are below "normal" levels. These presentations I hope to develop will allow them to expand their verbal skills as they make oral presentations.
More than half of students from low‑income households
