This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your early childhood years? This is an age of exploration and excitement! My Pre-K students would love to have more hands on manipulatives in their classroom to make learning more fun!

My Pre-K class is comprised of 36 students.

It is split into a morning class and an afternoon class. Our school is a Title 1 school, and most of my students live in a low income area and the majority of them live in non-English speaking households. They are all very eager to learn and at this age love school! Some of them are quick to learn new material, but some seem to be struggling in mastering basic skills.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of learning materials. I am requesting language arts and math manipulatives to help my struggling students improve in their alphabet and number writing. These would be used during independent centers as well as small group instruction. They would be practicing letter and number formations while at the same time having fun! The letter blocks will assist my students who are ready to create CVC words during small group instruction. I am also requesting some active play materials such as a hopscotch carpet to get my students to practice gross material skills. The activity scarves and rhythm sticks will help my students develop musical skills.

My Pre-K students would greatly benefit from all the hands on materials that I am requesting.

The materials will highly motivate and make learning more exciting! One of the phrases I love to hear is," Look! I did it!" Please help more of my students shout out this phrase.
