This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have classes of 24 students each. We are at a Title I elementary school. Many of them are English language learners and are striving on a daily basis to become better at reading and writing. They are excited about all the things they can learn. It is very exciting to watch them finally understand new concepts or recognize a skill they learned earlier in the day.

A large part of our curriculum is using online programs that are tailored to each student's language and academic needs.

It is so important that we have quality working headphones available in our classroom.

My Project

Miss Love, Maestra Tarin, Miss Johnson, and Mrs. Smith, would benefit greatly from having every student in their classroom have their own set of headphones. Our school uses two, on-line programs that are each tailored to meet a student's specific needs in math and literacy. It is so important they have a classroom environment that they can focus and concentrate on their work to maximize their learning.

With 20 students all trying to hear their math or reading lesson, it can get very loud in the classroom.

This makes focusing very hard, and learning time is not productive. Headphones would solve this problem. It also gives the teacher a quiet environment to implement small, skill-based groups with at-risk students.
