This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a diverse group of five- to six-year-olds in an inner-city school. I liken my children to sponges. They come to school with enthusiasm and an eagerness to soak up all of the smarts that I can give to them. Their parents want what is best for them.
Each day, I am entrusted with 35 resilient children.
These children come with open minds and ready for new experiences. I want to give them as much as I possibly can!
My Project
I am trying to get materials for a child who is staying with her Grandma. I sent her some books, but I realize she needs more. I am asking for some popular Mo Willems, Pete the Cat and Dr. Seuss books and the Lakeshore kit of the basics so that Grandma can help her with school.
COVID is not easy and learning remote with Grandma is definitely not.
Having a Grandma who loves you and wants what is best for you is a great asset. Let's support Grandma and my wonderful little learner in this difficult time and get them the resources they need!
