This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, basketball is a unit taught in PE. The younger students work on dribbling while the older students can work on shooting skills. These basketball hoops will be used so our younger students can engage and learn about the sport of basketball. Our hoops we have now are currently to high for our 1-3 graders so they are not able to feel success or shoot with the correct form, so these will really help! I can’t wait to teach them the fundamentals of basketball. Hopefully learning a new sport will inspire a love for exercise and staying healthy while having fun.

At the end of each unit, we form teams for the students to compete against one another.

These hoops will allow all age groups to form their team and compete.
