Hoop Dreams!!

Help me give my students new basketballs, a rim for the beginners, and agility/practice equipment for our after school program!

My Students

My students are in fifth grade. They love art, science, literature, and getting their hands dirty. A lot of them reside on farms in rural homes, so they have tough chores to complete on a daily basis. These amazing kids have braved through Covid with masks, social distancing in school, quarantines, and new routines like handwashing stations, rapid tests, tons of hand sanitizer, and new room cleaning procedures all while staying at a learning level one grade above the national grade level they are supposed to be at for their ages!

My students are kind, honest, and very caring.

They enjoy a good challenge as they have been tested this year, especially with this virus. Their perseverance and hope inspire me to do better for them. They are a great group of loving kids who love to read and learn.

My Project

Hi! Our after-school team is called the Masenators!! My name is Coach Mase, that's how we came up with the name! Haha! We have kids that are of ages ranging from 10, 9, 8, 6, and 5 who are just learning the sport of basketball. They are so enthusiastic about practice and love being on a team and just being a part of something different.

As a coach, I not only teach the kids the fundamentals of basketball, but also about sportsmanship, health, and team work and these tools can help us understand the game better!

We can really use some equipment. We have basketballs and that is it and the balls are not very good. It would be amazing to get a rim we can lower for the younger kids, some new basketballs, cones for teaching positioning and agility, a bag to carry the balls, and some jerseys to see who is on opposing teams when we scrimmage. We could learn so much more with a few tools to help us learn the game better. Thanks for considering helping us!
