This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Crochet is more than just a craft; it is a therapeutic activity that promotes fine motor skills, reduces stress, and fosters a sense of accomplishment. For this project, I am requesting hooks, colorful yarn, rings, and instructional material so my students can participate in crochet as an activity.

Some of the benefits students will gain from learning to crochet are sharpening their motor skills, getting good practice in problem-solving, expressing their creativity, and it's also a very calming activity that gives them a break from their screens.

Once students have mastered the basics, there is a slew of possibilities for creative expression, and it won't be too long before they start seeing some reward for their work, making them more motivated to continue learning.
