This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students face many challenges and obstacles in their home and school life. As a teacher, it is a difficult task to give them an equal amount of opportunities that other students in other areas may have. In spite of the fact, my students show up every day eager and excited to learn, they strive for success and do not give up.
Our school is in the heart of Los Angeles and serves a community that has a high poverty rate and diverse backgrounds.
As a product of the same circumstances, I believe that my students will achieve prosperity with the help of big-hearted people.
My Project
My students are eager to learn, they also enjoy singing, dancing, playing, and being active.At their age they are learning early print concepts and behaviors.
A diverse book nook that may serve as a calming corner is essential for their social emotional well-being.
The book nook will have many purposes such as a quiet place to read a book about diverse characters or a safe place to regain control of their emotions. The book nook will be a great addition to our classroom and will support my students overall well-being.
