Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a Teacher at a Title I, fine arts magnet school. My students are from different economics backgrounds. The majority of them are economically disadvantaged. Their home settings range from two-parent to single-parent homes. A majority of my students are of Spanish culture (or descent) or African-American.
My students are innovative, hard working, and most importantly, dreamers.
We focus on student-led education. My students display their eagerness to learn, and most importantly, the character traits that come with persistence and resilience.
My Project
Reading is such an important element in first grade. A majority of my students do not have access to good books outside of school. With your donation, I can guarantee that my students have the opportunity to take home books as well as strengthen their abilities in literacy. As an educator, I want to teach my students effective learning habits. Literacy is the foundation to a guaranteed successful educational career. Without the ability to read and comprehend, success in other subject areas will be a constant struggle throughout their education. These leveled take home books and organizer will ensure that my students have the support they need both inside and outside the classroom. Thank you!
