This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I absolutely love teaching preteens! Currently, I am teaching math and science to two sections of sixth graders in an urban school district.

In each section, there is a maximum of 34 students.

Both classes are have a mixture of Special Education and English Language Learners (ELL) students.

The range of reading levels abilities vary from 3rd grade to 6th grade. Many of my ELL students come directly from countries such as Haiti, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Africa. It is rewarding to see the growth in all of my students from the first day of school to the last day. It can be a challenge to meet all of the needs of my students every year but it is a challenge that I welcome!

My Project

Our classroom is transitioning to being environmentally friendly.

The materials that I am requesting for our classroom will greatly enhance the environment by providing students with a "home-like" feeling.

The Bamboo Wooden tablet charging station rack will give my students a permanent storage place for the Kindle Fires while not in use. The All-In-One Surge Protector Power Strip with USB ports will allow the Kindle Fires to secure the Kindle Fires as they charge. The 4-9 tiered storage organizer will support the tablet storage station along with other math manipulatives. The wooden mounted hook rack will securely hold the classroom hall passes, the students need to use, once they have entered the required information on the Google Form, which will be accessed by the students using the Kindle Fires.

By donating to our project, you will not only be helping to create a home-like environment, you will be helping students feel comfortable and ultimately allowing for academic achievement.
