My Students

David Thornburg said, "Any teacher that can be replaced by a computer, deserves to be." That is why I am asking for 6 Chromebook laptops so I can empower my students to be better thinkers and learners in this ever-changing 21st Century technological world.

Our school is busting at the seams and we no longer have a computer lab.

The laptops have been split up on three floors. Classes of 35 students are sharing 10 laptops. If you do the math that means 3 and 4 students sharing a laptop. Just as it is not feasible to have students stand in line to share learning tools such as a pencil, paper, notebook, book, etc, it also doesn't make sense for them to share with such large groups. Students often need to work at their own pace in their own way.

My Project

Students often need to work at their own pace in their own way. Laptops become a student's assistant for thinking, drawing, writing, reading, analyzing, calculating, connecting, collaborating, producing, researching, presenting, and more. This does not occur if they have to wait their turn in groups of four for each student to finish. Their laptops provide anytime/anywhere on-demand access to information, thinking, learning, experts, collaboration, creativity and knowledge and more. Additional laptops to my technology program will allow the students more time exploring and learning with technology rather than waiting for their turn in a large group. Ultimately the perfect scenario would be one laptop for every student, but this project will definitely make a big difference.

Thanks to Donor Choose these laptops are being sold at an extremely discounted price to schools because they know how important technology has become in the classroom.

They will help me reach my goal of having one laptop for every student in my technology class.
