Home Sweet Sensory Inclusive Classroom!

Help me give my students wobble chairs, bean bags, a cool down tent, a visual countdown timer, books, and other school supplies.

My Students

Many of my students are on the autism spectrum or have other developmental challenges. They also have very unique communication and processing needs. Children on the autism spectrum process information and learn differently than children without ASD. These students often need differentiation and accommodations to help them be academically and socially successful.

The majority of my students have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and many of them have specific adaptive technology needs, such as alternative seating, manipulatives, pencil grips and more.

My students benefit tremendously from multi-sensory learning as well as the opportunity to have sensory breaks. I am able to best teach my students when they have all the tools that they need to be successful in all aspects of the classroom.

My Project

Children with autism benefit from visual learning, flexible seating, sensory integration, and more. Flexible seating gives students an opportunity to be in control of their physical learning environment in which they work best. Wobble chairs will allow students to be focused and engaged in their learning while also getting their wiggles out. Visual materials and sensory integration helps students better understand instruction, can increases their comprehension, and allows them to process information in many different ways.

I have seen how flexible seating, sensory input, and visual materials positively affect my students and their learning.

These materials will make a difference in my students learning throughout the entire day by meeting many of their different needs. I know that these additional supplies will help them grow academically and socially.
