My Students

We're an active, create on your feet, "inquiring minds want to know" kind of crowd! Sometimes barriers with executive function, social communication and language processing skills can make investigation, research and showing what we know a challenge. Obtaining a digital classroom assistant would provide opportunities to sharpen our question-asking skills and raise our curious minds to a whole new, constructivists level of learning through student driven exploration and creation. A digital classroom assistant would supercharge our classroom and help to bring our learning to new heights and experiences.

My Project

My students need a "Google Home" classroom digital assistant to gain practice in the art of inquiry driven learning with a social communication twist. 21st century skillsets and mindsets will be honed through the channeling of student centered curiosity with a vision of seconary and post secondary futures.

My students are a group of unstoppable middle schoolers and high schoolers with social communication and learning disabilities who wish to have all the same social, educational, vocational and life experiences and opportunities as their peers.

They often know what they want to learn more about but do not always have the words to know how to ask the right questions. Other times, they may not feel comfortable to advocate in the setting of other people.

Factors such as these reduce the number of opportunities students have to practice and develop social communication skills to support their ability to more successfully navigate and enjoy educational, social and community experiences.

Receiving a "Google Home" will provide me and my students with a variety of interactive opportunities to access and practice social communication and inquiry skills. The students will gain access to pertinent information, and go on to constructively express their learning.in a way that is meaningful and makes a positive impact in their community.
