My Students

My students are middle school students of great diversity from a low income urban area with a large percentage of special needs students. Each year 90% of my students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunches. My students have so much to offer, and I would love to offer a positive environment for them to feel success in learning.

Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment.

It’s clear that learning environments can have a direct impact on student achievement. I would love to empower my students by any means possible.

My Project

To learn, children and adolescents need to feel safe and supported. Without these conditions, the mind reverts to a focus on survival. Educators in high-performing, high-poverty schools have long recognized the critical importance of providing a healthy, safe, and supportive classroom and school environment.

It is my goal to have each child feel safe and comfortable while they are in my classroom.

I am hoping to make my classroom feel as homey as possible. My students will succeed if they are comfortable. Posters, motivational sayings and clear rules will help my students do well. These supplies will make all the difference.

With the help of donors and DonorsChoose.org, organization can be more possible. The class should help make students feel secure. Donations to this project will enable my students to feel comfortable getting supplies. It will also help with the flow of the lessons. It will also make my classroom a happier place to be in.
