Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Please help me disguise that my classroom is in a trailer! As many of my high school students would rather stay at school than go home, I want to make the classroom as comfy as possible.

Many of my students entering the 9th are reading below grade level and some far below. Independent reading time is often a time of great discomfort for them. That's why it is especially important to create a warm and safe environment for them.

Something as simple as bean bag chairs to lounge on can make it more fun. A colorful rug also makes the whole classroom seem more inviting and would be more comfortable than the cold floor (for those students who don't score a bean bag chair). Meanwhile, the book display stand could highlight books from the genre we are studying, as well as student recommendations.

Your donation will create a peaceful and warm learning environment that will make reading time an enjoyable experience for my students.
