Home and School Hand in Hand

My Students

My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had many of the world experiences that others students have experienced.

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!

They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day, ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

They are eager learners. They love to please their teacher and their parents. Hopefully we will remain 100% in person all year.

My Project

Many of my students come to school with little or no school experience. The pandemic has made this even harder for them. Many do not have the supplies at home needed to become effective readers, writers, and mathematicians.

Hands on learning is vital for Kindergarteners.

These "at home" kits will help them use actual letters, numbers, and other manipulatives to build words and math problems at home to enhance their skills. It will also allow them to have the supplies needed if schools switch to virtual. They will learn that letters put together make words and words put together make sentences. This will help them become better readers and writers.

They will also be able to manipulate the numbers in the "at home" kits to show their parents mastery of math skills such as number identification, number sentences and so much more.
