My students need 1 copy of an assortment of 34 different science books such as "Wiggling Worms at Work".
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Russell's classroom raised $388
This project is fully funded
Hmmm...how to teach science without science books? That is the question! I am a math and science teacher at a school in Florida. I teach a highly diverse class of 34 students including ESOL (English Speakers of other Languages) and ESE (exceptional education students) students.
"Can I borrow your science book?" a student asks me eagerly. "Yes, but promise me you will return it to this exact shelf by the end of the day." I say with a slight feeling of nervousness. Why am I so nervous? With a science book library of under 25 books I fear the worst...a lost science book. The ironic thing is that science is my students' favorite subject. The fact of the matter is that my kids LOVE science; however, we just don't have enough books to keep up with the demand of inquiring minds. Every kid loves science. Whether it is space, animals, plants, dinosaurs, or the human body they just can't get enough.
Luckily you can help! It's simple. Our classroom needs a science book library face lift. We need an assortment of science books covering the state standards for 2nd and 3rd grade. These books will help students learn the standards, write reports, and have updated science information at their finger tips.
With your donation, you could empower me to say "Yes, take this science book and keep it for as long as you'd like!" without fear of losing my precious science books. More importantly, you could could inspire the next Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, or Galileo!
