This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a student and teacher of history, it is widely known that the historical narrative is often skewed in its recounting of the stories of old. The perspective of dominant people often obscures the stories of those in the margins. In the pursuit of providing students with the tools to critically analyze historical narratives, the teacher's hands are often bound because they are only given one narrative.
The literature to be provided through this project will offer many perspectives of the narrative of United States, empowering students with knowledge and the ability to think critically about differing perspectives.
