The students I teach art to are from rural Bladen County, NC, a diverse town with hard-working families. My students love to learn creatively and show the community their achievements. They motivate me to bring the world of art to them because of their curiosity and innovative nature. Our Title I school serves many students from low-income families and all our students benefit from expanded exposure to visual art. This project is intended for my students in K-5th grade.
One of the things I love about these students is the way they learn from each other and support each other.
My K-5 students are so hopeful to have opportunities in art beyond what currently is available in our program.
My Project
If we succeed at fulfilling this project goal, K-5 students will be better equipped for the first time to really work with messy materials in our art room!

Making art that is personal is one of the best things about art class.
Help them to shine! They love using silver pens, and will be so thankful for the fresh sets of materials! From favorite marker colors, to fresh black paint, to real canvasses, students will eagerly use these materials if we can get them in their creative hands.
