This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Dual Immersion 4th graders are close to finishing their first chapter book. We are reading Holes by Louis Sachar. I am excited to set up a "Holes Party" for my students. It has been so fun to share moments with my students and see their reading growth. It has been tough getting my students motivated and excited to read in English since we are a dual immersion school. Most of my students struggle with reading and have difficulty staying consistent. Since beginning to read Holes, my students have been excited to read, looking forward to reading Holes daily, and have had great discussions throughout our Novel Study!

I 100% want to give back to them by creating a core memory for my students in reading Hole, throwing a small party with snacks, and referencing those snacks with snacks from Holes!
