My Students

Offering our music students the chance to succeed is my top priority. We strive daily to make opportunities available for our high school students to further their musical skills and expand their horizons.

Students attending our school have earned recognition at the district, state, regional, and national level.

We have alumni working on Broadway, teaching college and public school music, and performing as professionals all over the world. Our music department has a 100+ year history of excellence, and we try every day to live up to that legacy. We offer jazz band, two levels of string orchestra, and concert band, pep band, and marching band. We also have strong choral, guitar, drama, and fine arts programs.

My Project

Our school district was recently able to purchase a new soprano saxophone for our music program. This is a specialty instrument which will greatly increase the versatility of our student musical ensembles. We also were fortunate to receive a new mouthpiece for this instrument. Unfortunately, this mouthpiece did not come with a ligature to secure the reed.

Without the proper ligature for the mouthpiece, our new soprano saxophone is like a new car with no lug nuts to hold the tires on.

By the time our new saxophone arrives, I would love to have all of the accessories in place so our students can use it right away. I believe that it is our responsibility to provide our students with proper equipment for school instruments.

Also included in this request are four bass drum "rim shooters." This is what gives the marching band bass drummers the "click" sound when they play on the rim. Without them, the bass drum mallets will eventually break the rims. The rim shooters to wear out and it is time to replace a few of them.
