My Students
My students are bursting with energy and have a strong desire to grow and learn. The majority of my students are Native American and due to the low, socioeconomic area we live in, 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school.
I am aware of the challenges many of my students face, and I make sure that when they walk through my classroom door, they are all given an equal opportunity to learn in a positive, encouraging environment.
My Project
Sitting can be hard! So during our instructional day, I try to keep my students moving as much as possible. They rotate through centers during our reading block. During math, they are fluidly moving around the room to complete different tasks and fluency games. My students also have flexible seating options during other parts of our day.
These Hokki Stools are the perfect learning too to help students wiggle while they work.
The ergonomic stool lets students keep moving, while sitting still and are perfectly designed so that they can't tip over. We'll use the Hokki Stools during small group instruction. Right now my students come to our small group table and sit in chairs. I'd love to give them the ability to wiggle while they learn.
