This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We believe that every student, no matter what, should have the chance at college success. The students at our school are buoyed up by a community of educators with the passion to ensure success. We are located in the middle of a diverse, working class neighborhood in Hayward.

This year, we opened a brand new middle school on our campus.

Over the next three years, we will grow into a 6th-12th college bound community of innovators, creative thinkers, athletes, and change makers.

My Project

Ergonomics are important for adult workers - and it's no different for our students! One of our goals at our new school was to rethink how the classroom can look and feel for our scholars. Our furniture is modular and flexible, and we'd like our students' seating options to be just as personalized.

When readers and problem solvers can move while still seated, their engagement stays high!

We started off the year with an assortment of Wobble Stools that just haven't worked out. So, after much research, we're trying to replace them with these Hokki Stools. We've heard they're great, and we can't wait to see what our students think!
