Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
During assessments at our Title 1 school, many students cannot afford headphones that allow for noise cancellation. They are given ear buds through the district but they break, get tangled, or are hard to hear. I have bought headphones in the past for my class and they worked so well to help them but after three years of wear and tear, unfortunately there is not enough for the entire class. Only having 5 pair left doesn’t give everyone the opportunity to share equally. I have 5 students this year with text to speech accommodations and the ear buds do not give them the best access to hearing the passages being read.
Third grade is the first year these students are introduced to state testing and they need to be able to not only hear the directions and questions during various assessments to help them get ready, but they need something like these headphones that can help them minimize noise from other students.
Many students need to be able to read aloud and it can be distracting to their peers. I am hoping that with your generosity, my students will have the best chance at success for not only testing, but for other things as well. They will also have the chance to read to their device with a microphone that has speech to text accommodations.
